Temple 11 is where the mountain pass starts to get to Temple 12 (Shosanji). Since my ankle is not 100%, I opted to take the train back to Tokushima Station and get the bus to the bottom of the Shosanji Temple mountain (instead of trekking up and down a couple of mountains.)

Temple 12 (Shosanji) was so far the most impressive because of the huge pine trees and the peaceful atmosphere at the top of the mountain.

Even though I trekked just the one mountain my feet were killing me when I got back to the bottom. I took a bus ( and thereby missing the weird doll village, which would have given me nightmares)
I managed to visit Temple 13 (Dainichi) and the Shrine across the Road before heading to the Ryokan behind the Temple. (This one has a nice room and meals!!)

Dinner at Ryokan looks delicious!

Food is amazing and healthy. When I comment on the delicious food, l’m often told that is just poor countryside food (Inakka no ryori).
